Interventional Cardiologist and Heart Failure Specialist

Dr Roderick Chua is a graduate of the University of Sydney. He completed his fellowship in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at the St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. He then proceeded on to an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Westmead Hospital, Sydney where he was heavily involved in acute infarct coronary angioplasty and advanced coronary interventional techniques. He was appointed as a Staff Specialist Cardiologist at the St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney in the Heart Failure and Transplantation Unit before taking up a position as an Inteventional Cardiologist at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane in 2006. He has been practicing privately at the Holy Spirit Northside Hospital since.

Dr Chua holds Level A Certification to report CT coronary angiography studies and reports regularly from the Queensland Diagnostic Imaging (QDI) Department at HSN.
His special interests are ischemic heart disease, acute infarct angioplasty, advanced heart failure management and renal denervation. He is a founding member of the Heart Valve Team at HSN and is the Cardiology Advisor for the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabiliation programme at the hospital. He consults privately from his rooms at Queensland Cardiology at HSN, and has sessional suites at Northside Cardiology Services, Kippa Ring and the Specialist Consulting Suites at the Montserrat North Lakes Day Hospital, North Lakes. He currently has admitting rights to the Holy Spirit Northside and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospitals.
